The Missouri Athletic Club to Present College Soccer’s Top Award
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Jan. 3, 2023) – The Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy presented by Mungenast St. Louis Acura and Alton Toyota will be awarded to the top male and female collegiate soccer players in the nation on Friday, Jan. 6. The crystal soccer ball trophy represents the highest individual achievement in the sport. Many of the biggest names in American soccer, including Mia Hamm, Christen Press, Claudio Reyna, and Alexi Lalas, have won the award.
The finalists for the 2022 men’s MAC Hermann Trophy are Levonte Johnson (Syracuse), Duncan McGuire (Creighton), and Peter Stroud (Duke). The finalists for the women’s award are Korbin Albert (Notre Dame), Michelle Cooper (Duke), and Jenna Nighswonger (Florida State). Alexi Lalas, the 1991 MAC Hermann Trophy winner, U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer, and Fox Sports soccer analyst, will be the featured speaker.
Media coverage is welcome. Alexi Lalas and the finalists will be available to the media from 5-6 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Missouri Athletic Club. A press conference where the winners are announced will take place at 6:30 p.m. (CST) on the second floor of the Missouri Athletic Club’s Downtown Clubhouse (405 Washington Ave.).
